New Conditioning, Flexibility, and Kobudo Classes Added to the Class Schedule
We are excited to announce additions to our weekly class schedule starting September 1, 2026. These classes are included in your monthly tuition and are designed to broaden your skills, strengthen your foundation, and provide fun new training options!
As a reminder, we offer Basic (1x/week), Standard (2x/week), and Unlimited tuition options. If you would like to upgrade your tuition option, please email info@ensokarate.com.
BEGINNING KOBUDO
Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30pm, Chicago dojo
Led by Sensei Rahmil, this class is for students who are new to kobudo (traditional weapons) and will focus on the bo (staff). Bo will be available to borrow, or you can order your own through us. Students must be age 8+ and rank orange belt or higher to attend this class.
INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED KOBUDO
Saturdays, 12:30-1:30pm, Chicago dojo
Led by Sensei Rahmil, this class involves more advanced practice and refinement with the bo (staff), eku (wooden oar), and sai (iron truncheon). Weapons will be available to borrow, or you can order your own through us. Students must have prior eku experience, or be a brown/black belt rank, to attend this class.
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30pm, Chicago dojo
Led by Sensei Elaine, with assistance from Sensei Toby and Sensei Noelle,, this class is specifically tailored to build physical conditioning, power, and targeted endurance for karate. Students must be age 13+ or a brown/black rank to attend. We will train in fitness wear instead of a karate gi, but training will be in bare feet.
FLEXIBILITY, BALANCE & MOBILITY
Tuesdays, 7:30-8:30pm, Chicago dojo
Led by Sensei Kurt, Sensei Candace, and Gretchen, this class is focused on improving joint range of motion, stance stability, and dynamic mobility for better karate technique and injury prevention. Students must be age 13+ or a brown/black belt rank to attend. We will train in fitness wear instead of a karate gi, but training will be in bare feet.
