We launched our Online Dojo in March 2020 as a way to continue training and connecting with our students during this time of social distancing. We’ve been incredibly impressed by our students’ hard work and dedication, even with the unique challenges that come with online training.
In April 2021, we began experimenting with some limited in-person offerings in addition to our online classes. Please check out our most up-to-date class schedule and tuition options.
As of June 2021, our hybrid Online/Offline Dojo experience includes these features:
LIVE ONLINE CLASSES — We offer a robust schedule of classes for youth, adults, and families of all ranks and ages 4 days a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays). Join from anywhere! Our dojo includes students training from multiple states and worldwide locations.
IN-PERSON CLASSES — We are also offering in-person instruction, with limited capacities and strict COVID safety procedures, on Tuesdays in Hyde Park and Thursdays in Oak Park. We hope to add to this schedule as we continue transitioning back to a more in-person world.
VIDEO TUTORIALS —We have a library of more than 20 videos that break down kata and kihon drills so you can study on your own.
OUTDOOR TRAINING — We conduct social distanced outdoor training events in downtown Chicago and other neighborhoods.
POP-UP SENSEI EVENTS —We welcome guest instructors from across the nation and the world to provide our students with a uniquely diverse array of perspectives on karate training.
LIVE VIRTUAL TOURNAMENTS — We plan to host opportunities to compete online and in real time with friends from both Enso and other dojos.
PRIVATE FACEBOOK GROUP — We use this platform to share news, answer questions, and stay engaged with each other throughout the week.
SENSE OF COMMUNITY—Enso students and their families have a strong sense of community because that’s what we are — a community. Instructors, students, and parents interact throughout the week on our private Facebook page and in other ways to share news, exchange ideas, answer questions, and stay engaged. We believe in transparency, and we are committed to karate and one another.
